Colloquial Arabic

Jordanian Colloquial Arabic (JCA) courses offer students an immersive study of the Jordanian dialect, which is used by locals for everyday interactions and conversation. The Jordanian dialect is very similar to other Levantine dialects, which include those spoken in Palestine, Lebanon and Syria, and is also closer to MSA than many other Arabic dialects. Study of JCA provides the essentials of navigating life in an Arab country, including important vocabulary, phrases, and sayings that students may hear on a daily basis while living abroad.

Ahlan World offers different colloquial language courses depending on the country in which the school is located, with each country having dialect which is unique and different in its own way. All schools offer Modern Standard Arabic courses.

Colloquial Arabic course options:

• Colloquial Arabic – 10 hours a week, course taught by trained, professional instructors. Classes range from two to eight students depending on demand.
• One-to-one classes – Flexible depending on your own schedule.
• One-to-one Online classes – All year round, very flexible in time and days.
• Ahlan Linguistic Package: The Ahlan Linguistic Package combines 3 hours of MSA and 2 hours of JCA per day (25 hours per week).
• JCA Standard course: 10 hours a week, course taught by trained, professional instructors.
• JCA Intensive course: 5 hours per day (25 hours per week). Classes range from two to eight students based on demand.
• JCA Speaking course: 2 hours per day (10 hours per week). Students of all levels in one group to practice their oral skills actively.

Ahlan World offers Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) courses across 8 levels, from absolute beginner to advanced. MSA is the standard Arabic that forms the basis of all Arabic dialects across the Arab world. With MSA, students are given the starting point to begin their own individual Arabic language journey by learning about the foundation stones of Arabic, from which they can dive into their chosen dialect. MSA speaks to the dramatic and vibrant heart of the Arab world.

Media Taster: Perfect for students enrolling in MSA classes but wish to add a new angle to their language learning. Media Classes: The higher level media course is based on the knowledge of the Media Taster course and increases the knowledge of the students. Ten-Week Program (Ahlan Jordan only): Ahlan’s comprehensive media and language Ten Week Program offers students an unparalleled journalistic study into Arab media.
